Izzett was a student at Frostburg State University in Alleghany County, Maryland and finished his freshman year in May 1995. Shortly thereafter, he began a transient lifestyle. He moved around after leaving college and visited his mother in Cumberland, Maryland on May 7, 1995. She last spoke to him via telephone on May 14, 1995. He stated that he was in Santa Monica, California and wished to return home and would call her back. He never made that call and has never been heard from again.
