Gray or white tank top, black hooded jacket with a front zipper, blue jeans, plaid or checkered mutlicolored Van shoes, silver hoop earrings, white plastic thumb ring with a picture of musician Ozzy Osbourne, and a silver-colored chain with a diamond horseshoe. She was carrying a blue Jansport backpack. |
Circumstances of Disappearance: |
 Unknown. Donna was spending the summer at her parent's house in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. On June 23, 2007 at around 5:30 pm, Jou left with John Steven Burgess, aka Sinjin Stevens, a man she had met on the Internet (photo at right). Burgess drove a black 1981 Yamaha motorcycle with license plates #14X1224 and took Jou to a party at his rented home in the 3600 block of Faris Drive in West Los Angeles, California. It was at this residence that Jou was last seen. Detectives say that the only form of communication from Jou came in the form of a text message the day after her disappearance. Burgess, a convicted sex offender, was charged with involuntary manslaughter in her case in March 2009. He confessed to killing Jou and dumping her body off the southern California shore after her death. He was sentenced to five years in prison, but was released in December 2011. Jou's body has never been located. |
