His hair is wavy. He has small black Asian symbols, barely visible, tattooed on each of his temples. He has large green maple leaves outlined in black tattooed on each shoulder, and his tongue and ears have previously been pierced. His has five pale-colored cafe au lait marks on his torso.
A gray t-shirt, khaki cargo pants or shorts, a wrap sarong, sandals, and a wristwatch with a black band. He may have been carrying a small backpack with tent poles.
Marks was last seen around 4:00 p.m. overlooking Waimea Canyon at the second Kalaluau lookout on Pihea Trail in Kauai, Hawaii. He is an experienced hiker and had planned to hike to Kalalau State Park. He has never been seen again. He was supposed to fly from Kauai to Duluth, Minnesota on November 16, but never made his flight.
