Identifying Characteristics:

Mole on left forearm, diagonal scars on tips of first and second fingers, and a previously dislocated left arm.


Blue "Bum" sweatshirt, tank top, denim shorts, socks and brown hiking boots. A silver ring with the words "Loves Jesus", dog tags, a "Rice Crispy" watch and a friendship bracelet. She wears Lazza Fortell eyeglasses with brown frames.


Jennifer planned to bike from San Diego to Las Cruces, New Mexico and then on to Mexico. She left San Diego riding her white Fuji mountain bicycle and carrying her backpack. From October 1. 1991 to October 13, 1991 she called her mother eight times, reporting her progress. On the morning of October 17, 1991, Jennifer called her mother from a Shell service station on Pine Street in Deming, New Mexico, 30 miles north of the Mexican border. She agreed to call her mother again that evening. She never called back and has not been heard from again. On September 4, 1992, hunters found Jennifer's camping gear, bicycle helmet, and journals under a tarp in a remote area between Hatch and Deming off of State Road 26, about 46 miles northeast of Deming.
