Circumstances:

Kimberly was last heard from when she called her mother on March 20, 1980, from Davenport, Iowa where she'd been visiting her father. Kimberly mentioned in their phone call that she had met a friend on the bus named “Kathy” from Chicago and that she planned to spend a night in Illinois with her. She has never been heard from again. Her mother attempted to file a missing person’s report in 1980 but Texas authorities refused to take the report since Kimberly didn’t vanish from Texas. Her mother moved to Davenport and filed a missing person’s report again, and Kimberly was officially reported as missing on September 1, 1982. Many agencies will falsely list this as the date of her disappearance and her age as 16.
